Dr Sushank Ashok Bhalerao

Sushank Bhalerao completed his basic medical education from Government Medical College and Hospital at Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He then completed his post-graduation and senior residency from Regional Institute of Ophthalmology in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He later went on to pursue a three-year fellowship in Comprehensive Ophthalmology with specialty in 'Cornea and Anterior Segment' and 'Cataract and Refractive Surgeries' from L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. Dr Bhalerao's main areas of clinical interest include cataract surgeries, refractive surgeries (PRK, LASIK etc.), corneal transplants (PK, DALK, DSAEK, DMEK etc.) and surgeries involving stem cells of the cornea (SLET). His research focuses on reducing the incidence and morbidity related to corneal blindness - secondary to corneal scars and various corneal disorders. Sushank has presented at national and international conferences, and his research work has also been published in international journals.
