Squint :
Squint or strabismus is a condition that can affect the alignment of the eyes, causing the vision to be pointed in two different directions in both eyes. The squint will be caused due to many reasons such as refractive errors, imbalance of the muscles of the eyes, childhood illnesses, and nerve palsy. The symptoms that will be noticed in squint will be one eye that is not straight, headache, reading difficulty, eye strain, and unstable vision. The effects on the eye that occur due to squint include binocular vision, double vision, and poor depth perception, leading to difficulty in judging distances. If squint is corrected, it can cause lazy eye. The treatment advised for squint will be due to the usage of corrective lenses; in other severe cases, surgery can be indicated to correct the squint, and eye exercises. Early detection and management of squint will be done by using regular eye checkups, which are helpful for the child to prevent eye problems.
