Knee Replacement :
Knee replacement also referred to as knee arthroplasty is the surgical procedure, through incision, removal of damaged cartilage or bone in the knee joint with a replacement by artificial parts made from metal, ceramic, or plastic. patients having underlying disease like serious arthritis ,oste oarthritis ,rheumatoid arthritis, severe knee injuries that may lead to chronic pain, stiffness, and defective motion of the knee are subjected to knee replacement.
Symptoms include Patients will be unable to walk or climb stairs. Failure to respond to all other treatments, including medicines, physical therapy, or injections of corticosteroids, means failure and possible knee replacement.
The knee will regain complete mobility and strength as soon as a patient undergoes post-surgical physical therapy. It is a long process where one may take several months to fully recover, but indeed it reduces much of the pain and makes one enjoy life much with better joint mobility.
