HPV :
HPV is an abbreviated form of Human Papilloma Virus. It is a dreadful condition caused by a group of papilloma viruses through sexual contact or skin to skin contact. HPV can manifest clinically as genital warts or growths near vaginal or anal regions, abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, increased pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse, itching or redness in genitals. A Venerologist suggests STD (sexually transmitted disease) screening tests, pap smear, HPV DNA test and visual inspection during physical examination of genitalia. It can be monitored with routine Pap smears, cryotherapy or surgical excision of genital warts and preventive measure of HPV immunization. Awareness of HPV transmission, practice of safe sexual intercourse, undering regular pap smears, and avoiding nicotine usage can be beneficial to prevent HPV.
