Venerologist :
A venereologist is a physician who deals with diagnosing and managing sexually transmitted diseases. To pursue career as a venereologist, one has to complete their five and half years of degree in MBBS, followed by pursuing post graduation (MD) in dermatology, venereology and leprosy (DVL). A venereologist treats a wide range of diseases such as chlamydia, syphilis, genital herpes, gonorrhoea, genital warts caused by human papilloma virus (HPV) and HIV or AIDS, also known as venereal diseases. A patient is referred to a venereologist, if they experience symptoms of these venereal diseases including rashes, blisters in anus along with sores around the genitals, unusual vaginal, anal or penile discharge, abnormal vaginal bleeding, skin growths near the genitalia or the anus, itchy sensation around anus or genitals, pain while urinating, warts around the anus or genitals which are also seen but very rarely inside the throat or mouth.
