Paediatric Urologist :
A paediatric urologist is a specialist doctor who deals with the diagnosis and management of urological problems observed in children. A paediatric urologist will be qualified with a graduation in MBBS, followed by post-graduation in MS, MCh in urology or DBN in urology. A paediatric urologist will diagnose and manage several disease conditions, such as congenital anomalies, which include abnormalities in the kidneys, urethra, and genital systems, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence, and bed wetting. A paediatric urologist will be able to treat diseases that affect reproductive health, such as undescended testicles and hydroceles. When the child is having symptoms like pain during urination, frequent urination, burning sensation during urination, abnormal passage of urine, undescended testicles in boys, bedwetting even after the age of 5 years, foul-smelling urine, presence of blood in urine, fever, genital problems like abnormal-shaped swelling around testicles, back pain, genital organs, lump in the stomach. These needed to be addressed by a paediatric urologist for the diagnosis and management of the underlying condition.
