Pneumonia :
The pneumonia infection causes inflammation in the air sacs, also referred to as alveoli in either one or both the lungs and fills it with fluid or pus. Most pneumonias are caused by viruses and bacteria, mainly by bacteria. Its symptoms include coughing out mucus, fever accompanied by chills, pain in the chest, and shortness of breath. Involved in the cases affected are young children aged below five years, and elderly people above 65 years. Pneumonia can be diagnosed through use of physical examinations and chest X-rays, at other times, sputum tests have to be done. This is because the cause varies, thus, the bacterial has to be treated using antibiotics while the viral types have to be dealt with through antiviral drugs, among other treatments which include rest and hydration and medications to combat fever. Immunization and proper hygiene could be included in the prevention of pneumonia among the victims.
