Plastic surgeon :
Plastic surgeons are specialized surgeons who perform reconstructive and cosmetic techniques for repairing congenital defects and injuries that affect the appearance and function. To qualify as a plastic surgeon, one should complete their five and half years of graduation in MBBS followed by post graduation like MS in General Surgery and then pursue an additional super specialization degree (M Ch/ DNB) in Plastic Surgery. A plastic surgeon also addresses the aesthetic concerns of people. The common conditions that are handled by a plastic surgeon include birth defects like cleft lip and palate, hypospadias, microtia, congenital hand differences, craniosynostosis and syndactyly and traumatic conditions like burns, cuts, complex wounds involving delicate tissue like lips, eyelids, nose genitals and nerves, hands, feet, facial fractures and scars which limit the natural movement of the body. Plastic surgeons also carry out reconstruction procedures for cancers like head and neck cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, gynecological cancer, testicular cancer, skin cancer and vaginal cancer.
