Multiple Myeloma :
Multiple myeloma can be referred to as a blood cancer that affects the plasma cells present in the blood, known as white blood cells. Plasma cells will produce antibodies, which are part of the immune system. Multiple myeloma can occur when healthy cells are converted into abnormal cells by multiplying into larger numbers, leading to the production of antibodies called M proteins. The symptoms that are observed in the case of multiple myeloma can be bone pain, fatigue, unexplained weight loss, nausea & vomiting, fever, easy bruising and bleeding, and confusion. The diagnosis of multiple myeloma can be made through urine tests, imaging tests such as X-ray, CT scan, MRI scan, blood tests, and bone marrow tests. After the diagnosis of cancer, staging of multiple myeloma will be done to make the treatment plan. The treatment for multiple myeloma can be made with immunotherapy, targeted therapy, chemotherapy, CAR-T cell therapy, bone marrow transplant, corticosteroids, and radiation therapy.
