Gynaecologist & Obstetrician :
Gynecologists focus on women's reproductive health, and obstetricians deal with issues surrounding pregnancy and childbirth. Many doctors undergo both forms of training and become OB-GYN's. Gynecologists, in turn, diagnose and treat a wide range of problems women may have, including those of menstruation, fertility, hormonal balances, menopause, and breast and other female cancers that can easily be mistaken for an infection. Common conditions they deal with include polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS), uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and cervical cancers. Obstetricians are concerned with elderly women's pregnancies, the health of the fetus, surveillance of high risk pregnancies, and labor and delivery. They also provide prenatal care and ultrasonography and can intervene when needed through cesarean sections. Women should go for regular gynecological checkups. A proper lifestyle, good diet, and adequate health care for women at each point in their lives can help them maintain reproductive well-being.
