PCOD :
PCOD(Polycystic Ovarian Disease) refers to the excessive production of immature eggs by the ovaries that can develop into ovarian cysts over time. It may caused by insulin resistance, overproduction of androgens, minor inflammation, heredity, and weight. Signs of PCOD are abnormal menstruation, skipped menstruation, darkening of the skin around the neck and groin, severe menstrual bleeding, difficulty getting pregnant, hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, and back, obesity, acne on the face, upper back and chest and hair thinning. Complications are abnormal bleeding in the uterus, type 2 diabetes, miscarriage, sleep apnea, premature delivery, preterm labour, infertility, chronic liver inflammation, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, unwanted hair growth, depression, anxiety, and endometrial cancer. Diagnosis can be made by pelvic examination, blood tests, and ultrasound.
