Pulmonologist :
A pulmonologist or lung specialist is a specialized doctor who deals with diagnosing and treating respiratory diseases affecting the respiratory system. A pulmonologist is qualified with graduation in MBBS, followed by a master's, MD in pulmonary medicine or respiratory medicine. Also pursued further specialization, DM in critical care medicine and pulmonary medicine. There are common conditions that are treated by a pulmonologist are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, sarcoidosis, pulmonary vascular disease, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, obstructive sleep apnea, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, and coughs. When there are symptoms such as shortness of breath, long time cough which is very severe, chest tightness, frequent bronchitis, chest discomfort, wheezing, abnormal breathing issues, weakness, family history of asthma, loud snoring during sleep, sleep apnea, etc, should consult a pulmonologist for treatment.
