Pneumonia :
Pneumonia is an infection in the lungs that occurs due to viruses and fungi. Pneumonia will cause inflammation of the lung tissues and cause the formation of pus in the lungs. The pneumonia will be caused due to bacteria, fungus, virus, and there will be other illnesses that can cause pneumonia, such as flu, cold, HPV infection, HMPV infection, COVID-19 infection, legionnaires disease, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and pneumococcal disease. The symptoms that are seen in pneumonia will be breathing difficulty, cough, fever, vomiting, chills, loss of appetite, lack of energy, and restlessness. The diagnosis of pneumonia will be made through diagnostic tests like blood tests, imaging tests, including a CT scan, sputum test, chest X-ray, arterial blood gas test, pulse oximetry, pleural fluid culture, and bronchoscopy. The treatment advised for pneumonia will be done through medications, antifungal medications, antiviral medications, oxygen therapy, IV fluids for treating dehydration, and draining of fluids accumulated in the chest.
