Psoriasis :
Psoriasis is a skin condition caused by autoimmune disorder. It is presented clinically as a patch of red or gray, scaly and thick texture of skin. It can be due to family history of psoriasis, environmental changes, and autoimmune response. Psoriasis can also cause itching or burning sensation of the red patches, dry skin texture and brittle nails. There are different types of psoriasis such as plaque, pustular or inverse based on the appearance. A skin biopsy of the affected skin tissue can confirm the diagnosis of psoriasis. A certified dermatologist can prescribe topical ointments or creams directly to skin, light therapy, oral medications, and lifestyle modifications. If left untreated, psoriasis can progress to psoriatic arthritis, eye problems and mental health problems.
