Dandruff
Q.

What is the best home remedy to remove dandruff from the scalp? Should I talk to a dermatologist?

A.

Hello.. We can reduce dandruff by following some tips in our daily routine at home like

  • Having a balanced diet
  • Avoid stress
  • Avoid excess oil application if you have dandruff. Just apply oil 1-2 hrs before the hair wash.
  • Frequent shampooing to prevent fungus growth on oily scalp
  • Use shampoos with antifungal agents

Eczema
Q.

I've been suffering from eczema for almost 15 years and want to get rid of it. Suggest ways to do so.

A.

Good afternoon, first we need to look out for the predisposing factor that is causing your eczema. Like any allergen exposure in your occupation, any pets in your home or hobbies like gardening, any excess exposure to dust. Need to avoid all the irritants that will increase your eczema like excess use of soaps, detergents, sanitizers, etc. These are the general measures that will decrease your symptoms but you need to be treated according to the type of your eczema, your skin type, etc. which is better done by consultation.
