Lap Splenectomy :

Spleen is storage organ located in the upper left abdominal cavity which is a part of the immune system that houses both red blood cells and white blood cells. Partial or complete removal of spleen is called as Splenectomy. The laparoscopic removal of the spleen is called as lap Splenectomy. Lap Splenectomy is utilised to treat a comprehensive range of conditions including Ruptures spleen, Enlarged spleen, cancer, infection, cyst, tumor, blood disorder. A Splenectomy can be performed through an open method, but due to the increased proficiency and favourable treatment outcomes, lap Splenectomy has become the preferred choice in the recent times.
