Trachoma :
Trachoma starts as a bacterial infection that can treated and if left untreated it can lead to scarring of the eyelid that makes the eye lashes turn inward with every blink of eye. Tachoma can be spread if there is a direct contact with an affected persons eyes or nose , or indirect contact through clothing or flies that have come into contact with an affected persons eye or nose.Risk factors which can aggravate tachoma are poor hygeine , crowded living conditions and not enough clean water and toilets. Treatment of tachoma includes administration of oral and topical antibiotics. Surgery is also considered in few cases of tachoma.
