Trachoma :
Trachoma is a disease that affects the eyes. It develops due to a bacterium and commonly occurs in rural areas with hygiene problems. In the early stages, the disease can make the eyes red and swollen. The individual may complain of blurry vision and have a watery discharge from the eyes. As the disease progresses, the eyelids may turn inward or develop scars, making them tighter. In some cases, trachoma can cause irreversible blindness.
An ophthalmologist can diagnose the disease by performing an eye exam. The doctor may numb the eye and collect a sample of the eye fluid for lab testing. The results of the lab test can confirm the diagnosis. If the condition is detected in the early stages, it can be cured with antibiotics. If the condition recurs or isn't treated in time, it can progress and affect the eyelashes. At this advanced stage, the treatment of the condition requires surgery.Found 87 Doctors for Trachoma Treatment in Indore
