Ophthalmologist :
An ophthalmologist is otherwise called an eye doctor and is involved in diagnosing and treating the eye and its related conditions. They are the most qualified among eye care professionals to diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases beyond the routine eye and vision care provided by an optometrist. They are the graduates who pursue an MBBS degree followed by sub-specialty training in medical and surgical eye care. Ophthalmologists prescribe medications to treat concerns such as implement laser therapy, eye diseases, and perform surgery when needed. They provide both primary and specialty eye care, including medical and surgical procedures. Major conditions that need the consultancy of an ophthalmologist include an eye injury or infection, eye pain, an increase in floaters and flashes of light, a change in vision, such as blurriness or double vision, and sudden vision loss.
