A dietitian is a medically trained professional who provides guidance in healthy eating to maintain good health. A dietitian will be qualified with a bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics. The key focus of a dietitian is to assess the nutritional status of an individual, manage medical nutrition therapy, provide nutrition counseling, develop personalized meal plans, promote public health, and collaborate with other medical professionals. There are many types of dietitians such as community dietitians, consultant dietitians, clinical dietitians, research dietitians, and management dietitians. A dietitian also helps in recovering from a surgery or illness, and helps in changing into healthy eating habits, in order to lose weight or gain a healthy weight.
