Diabetic diet is a special course of meal that a person who is diagnosed with diabetes is restricted to have on daily basis. It is a eating plan that is healthy which is low in carbohydrates, fats and rich in nutrients. This helps in controlling blood sugar levels and obesity there by complications like heart diseases. Intake of healthy carbohydrates in controlled portions such as green leafy-veggies, whole grains, legumes. Sugars are also simplified carbohydrates but should be avoided as they cause spike in blood sugar levels. Food that is rich in fiber such as vegetables, fruits, chia seeds, beans, peas, nuts should be taken. Good fats are essential and are available in food such as fatty fish, eggs, flax seeds, avocado, extra virgin olive oil must be included in diet.
