A Diabetic Diet simply means incorporating a healthy diet in order to reduce the symptoms and further complications of diabetes mellitus or high blood sugar. A Diabetic diet is a healthy eating plan that involves food naturally rich in nutrients and low in calories and fat. A person with diabetes should maintain a balanced plate that can include fatty fish, green leafy vegetables, whole grains, citrus fruits, beans, and walnuts. Some of the foods to limit in a diabetic diet are potato chips, white bread, puffed rice, cookies, cakes, chocolates, soda, white rice. Both starchy and sugary carbohydrates might raise blood sugar although consumed in the right amounts can play a vital role in a balanced meal plan.
