CT Surgeon :
A CT Surgeon / Cardiothoracic surgeon is a general surgeon who undergoes additional training to perform surgical procedures on the lungs, esophagus, heart, and other parts of the chest. To become a cardiothoracic surgeon, one has to complete their graduation in MBBS from a reputed medical college, followed by post-graduation in General Surgery, and then pursue super-specialization in cardiothoracic surgery. CT Surgeons primarily deal with conditions affecting the organs such as the heart and pericardium around it, the chest wall, the coronary arteries, the esophagus, the trachea, the diaphragm, the mediastinum, and the lungs. The wide range of diseases treated by Cardio Thoracic Surgeons include coronary artery disease, issues with aorta like atrial fibrillation, aneurysms, heart transplants, lung transplants, lung diseases like cancer, esophageal disease such as cancer, emphysema, heart failure, problems with swallowing, congenital heart defects, hiatal hernias, chest injury from an accident, aneurysms in chest arteries, heart valves that aren't working right and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
