The training background for pediatric cardiac surgeons is 5 years of medical graduation, 3 years of post graduation in general surgery, 2 years of Cardiothoracic super specialization, and 2 to 4 years of training in pediatric heart surgery. They provide surgery for conditions like holes in the heart chambers, abnormal blood vessels, valve problems, congenital and acquired heart defects, and heart transplants.
