IGRT :
IGRT, or Image Guided Radiation Therapy, refers to a type of external beam radiation that is used to improve the overall treatment results of cancer and is used as an advanced cancer treatment. IGRT ensures accuracy and precise delivery of radioactive beams and involves minimal exposure of the surrounding healthy tissue. IGRT is recommended to remove the tumors that are movable, such as lung tumors or prostate tumors. Cancers such as lung cancer, prostate cancer, brain cancer, abdominal cancer, gynecological cancers like ovarian cancer, vaginal cancer, or uterine cancer, and head and neck cancers are treated with the help of IGRT. This is an effective and safe way to treat cancers that move due to breathing, digestion, or other factors, as this treatment requires very exact targeting. The risk of side effects is also reduced, as IGRT is a kind of cutting-edge treatment, and the common side effects that may arise after IGRT include fatigue, diarrhea, skin changes like irritation and itchiness, and nausea and vomiting.
