Hernia :
Hernia is a problem that causes localized bulges in the abdomen. It may caused by a congenital condition, aging, damage from injury, strenuous exercise, lifting heavy weights, chronic coughing, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, pregnancy, constipation, obesity, ascites. Factors that influence the risk of developing a hernia are being born prematurely, being older, having chronic cough, cystic fibrosis, pregnancy, chronic constipation, overweight, smoking, and family history of hernias. Types of hernias are inguinal hernia, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, hiatal hernia, incisional hernia, femoral hernia, umbilical hernia, ventral hernia, and perineal hernia. Signs and symptoms of hernias are bulging, constant pain, and discomfort during sitting. Diagnosis is made by CT scan and can be treated with hernia repair surgery and laparoscopic surgery.
