Hernia :
A hernia is described as an odd bulge that appears in the abdomen or groin region. It is observed through an opening in the muscle that contains it. Hernia is commonly seen along the front midline of the abdomen, through a former abdominal surgery incision, in the lower chest region through the diaphragm, and in the groin region through the lower abdominal wall. This condition comes and goes during different positions and different activities. Hernias are classified into various types, namely, inguinal hernia, hiatal hernia, femoral hernia, umbilical hernia, ventral hernia, perineal hernia, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, and incisional hernia. The risk factors associated with hernia include chronic cough, jobs that involve heavy lifting and long standing hours, allergies, history of abdominal or pelvic surgery, chronic obesity, chronic constipation, and pregnancy. The best treatment to correct a hernia is performing hernia repair surgery.
