Gastritis :
Gastritis is described as inflammation of the mucous lining of the stomach. There are two types of gastritis such as acute gastritis and chronic gastritis. The warning signs of gastritis include indigestion, stomach ulcers, loss of appetite, feeling full after eating, bloating, stomach pain, nausea and vomiting, and if the ulcer presents as black blood in the stool and black blood in the vomit. The factors causing gastritis include infections (bacterial and viral), chemicals, autoimmune diseases, reduced blood supply and other factors like radiation therapy, bile reflux and chemotherapy. To identify this stomach condition, various diagnostic tests such as upper GI series, upper endoscopy exam, blood tests, stool tests and H. pylori breath test are conducted. The treatment for gastritis involves various methods like using over the counter medications, antibiotics, addiction treatment services for cocaine addiction or alcohol use disorder, targeted drugs for autoimmune diseases and using acid blocking medications to promote healing.
