Medical Oncologist :
A medical oncologist is actually a cancer specialist with proper expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases especially cancers through non-surgical means, which includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy. Medical oncologist diagnose the disease and plan the treatment accordingly depending upon the stage of the cancer. Medical oncologists coordinate with other specialists including radiation oncologists and surgeons to offer comprehensive care for cancer. They observe the patient's response to treatment and provide symptom management and all the aspects of care that will help quality of life at the time of and following cancer treatment. To become a medical oncologist, one has to do the MBBS degree and then, subsequently, the MD in Internal Medicine which is three years of study. Thereafter, there's further specialization through a super-specialty course called DM in Medical Oncology which again takes three years of study. The primary goal of a medical oncologist is complete effectiveness of the treatment of cancer in patients while offering customized care to the patient at every stage of his or her treatment.
