Lap Appendectomy :
Laparoscopic appendectomy is a minimally invasive procedure where a long and thin tube called a laparoscope is used to remove an infected appendix. It is a small, tube-like organ extending from the colon to the lower belly on the right side and has no function in the human body. Laparoscopic appendectomy is done by making 1 to 3 small incisions near the belly button, and the laparoscope that is attached with a tiny light and high-resolution camera is inserted, which helps in guiding the instruments through the incisions. It uses CO2, which helps in swelling of the abdomen so that the appendix and other organs are easily observed. It causes less pain and scarring, making the scar hard to see once it is healed. Laparoscopy appendectomy will take an hour and recover in a short time with a lower rate of infection.
