Diabetic Retinopathy :
Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus that affects the blood vessels of the retina, which is seen in the eye. Retinopathy can damage the blood vessels of the retina, which causes complete vision loss. There are two stages of diabetic retinopathy: proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) and nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy will be caused by type 1 and type 2 diabetes, type 3c diabetes, and gestational diabetes. The symptoms that will be seen in the case of diabetic retinopathy will be low vision, color blindness, blurred vision, eye floaters, blind spots, night blindness, visual field defects, and complete vision loss in advanced cases. The diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy will be done by an ophthalmologist with regular eye examination. In order to treat diabetic retinopathy, first the diabetes needs to be controlled by regular monitoring of blood sugar, regular checkups, taking medicines regularly, and then for the treatment of eyes, laser surgery, treatment options are medications, and eye surgeries.
