PCOD
PCOD is an abbreviated form of Poly Cystic Ovarian Disorder, indicates presence of cysts in ovaries as confirmed from the Ultrasound / CT scan of abdomen and pelvis. It is specifically seen in female population or people who are assigned female at birth.
This condition affects female reproductive health causing irregular menses, weight fluctuations, mood disturbances and hormonal disruption leading to several other diseases like thyroid dysfunction, diabetes and obesity. Several young adults are experiencing PCOD in the new generations due to multiple factors such as work stress, lifestyle habits and mental health disorders. Regulating PCOD with medication, healthy eating habits and slow paced regular body movement consistently is the only way to manage this condition.
