Laparoscopic Sterilization :
A laparoscopic sterilization is a surgical procedure that results in permanent prevention of pregnancy in females. In other words, the procedure makes it impossible for a female to become pregnant. Moreover, the sterilization procedure removes the need to use all other types of contraception. This is achieved by either removing or closing the fallopian tubes in the body. Altering the tubes in this way prevents the eggs from entering the womb.
The procedure begins with putting the patient to sleep using anaesthesia. Next, the surgeon makes a tiny cut near the navel. The surgeon then slips an instrument into the cut and fills the abdomen with carbon dioxide. The expanded abdomen gives the surgeon space to operate. Then, the surgeon makes additional small cuts and inserts a laparoscope along with tiny surgical instruments. The laparoscope captures video of the insides of the body, which is visible on a video monitor. The surgeon uses the footage to locate the fallopian tubes and cuts them or blocks them off with clips.
