Haemodialysis :

Hemodialysis is a procedure in which the blood is purified and filtered using a machine and sent back into the circulation and it is usually done in patients with kidney failure where the kidney is unable excrete and reabsorb the substances in a normal way. It is done by the dialysis technician under the guidance of nephrologist. It is done in cases of acute or chronic kidney failure and or ESRD(end stage renal disease). Patients with kidney failure present with swelling or fluid build up in body especially on the dependant areas like feet, muscle cramps, fatigue, weight fluctuations, nausea , vomiting and loss of appetite. Hemodialysis is done as regular treatment sessions by a schedule depending on the condition of the patient and serum creatinine levels.
