Endometriosis :
Endometriosis is described as an abnormal tissue growth outside the uterus which is similar to the uterus inner lining. Endometriosis can affect the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and lining of pelvis tissue. The symptoms that are noticed when there is endometriosis are pain during menstruation, pain experienced during bowel movements, pain while urinating, heavy bleeding, pain during sexual intercourse, infertility, bloating of the stomach, constipation, and diarrhea. The stages in endometriosis can be stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage 4. Endometriosis can be diagnosed through a pelvic examination, MRI scan, laparoscopy, and ultrasound scan of the uterus. Management of endometriosis can be done through treatment with medications for pain relief, hormonal replacement therapy, progestin therapy, aromatase inhibitors, gonadotropin releasing hormone (Gn - RH) agonists and antagonists, treatment for infertility, conservative surgery, removal of ovaries (hysterectomy). There are some severe complications with endometriosis, such as breathlessness, bowel problems, pain in the chest region, and bladder problems.
