Duodenal Ulcer :
Ulcer present in the duodenum which is the starting point of the intestine is called as duodenal ulcer. A duodenal ulcer is different from gastric ulcer which forms in the stomach itself. A small duodenal ulcer may usually cause no warning symptoms, but if it grows it might cause a serious bleeding. Some of the symptoms include abdominal pain increased after intake of food, fullness of the stomach, empty feeling in the stomach, nausea, vomiting, pain in the abdomen which wakes the patient especially during night, bloody stools, fatigue, chest pain, unexplained weight loss. Diagnosis of duodenal ulcer is generally made by endoscopy. Treatment include medical management like administration proton pump inhibitors for complete 2 weeks.
