Knee Replacement :
Knee Replacement or knee arthroplasty is a procedure where damaged parts of the bone and cartilage are replaced by inserting a prosthetic knee joint and creating a cushion using a plastic spacer. Knee replacement is done in conditions like joint pain, stiffness, limited mobility, and swelling. Arthritis, car accidents, falls, and sports injuries are common causes of knee replacement. Types include total knee replacement, where the three areas ( medial, lateral, and patellofemoral) are replaced, and partial knee replacement, where only some or damaged areas of the knee joint are replaced. Risks include blood clots, infection inside the knee, nerve and blood vessel issues, problems with prosthetic implants, and stiffness.
