Arthritis :
Arthritis is a term that refers to pain, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness in the joints. Joints of hands, wrists, knees, feet, ankles, hips, lower back, and shoulders are mostly affected. Types of arthritis include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and juvenile arthritis. Symptoms of arthritis are joint pain, inflammation, skin discoloration, redness, and decreased range of motion. Risk factors of arthritis are smoking tobacco, family history, activity level, and health conditions like autoimmune diseases and obesity, athletes, people of old age, and people doing physically demanding jobs. Diagnosis is made by X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, and CT scan. Treatment includes NSAIDs, corticosteroids, disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs, physical therapy, and surgery.
