Knee Arthroscopy :
Knee arthroscopy is a procedure in which an orthopaedic surgeon examines the knee from within. The procedure involves the use of a thin, tube-like device called an arthroscope. The device has a camera and a light at its tip. During a knee arthroscopy, the patient is given anaesthesia so they do not feel any pain. Then, the arthroscope is inserted into the knee via a small cut. The footage captured by the camera is visible on a video monitor that is attached to the arthroscope.
If the surgeon finds any unusual growths or other problems in the knee, then they can perform a procedure to treat it. Arthroscopy-guided procedures involve making additional cuts in the knee and inserting small surgical instruments. The surgeon can then fix any problems like soft tissue injuries, synovium swelling or fractures.
