An arthroscopic specialist is a doctor who specializes in treating musculoskeletal issues using an arthroscope. To become an arthroscopic specialist, one must complete five years of medical graduation along with an internship, three years of post-graduation in orthopaedics, and a fellowship in arthroscopy. Types of arthroscopy include elbow arthroscopy, foot and ankle arthroscopy, hand and wrist arthroscopy, hip arthroscopy, knee arthroscopy, and shoulder arthroscopy. Arthroscopic specialists treat conditions like knee pain, anterior cruciate ligament tears, meniscal tears, torn ligaments, cartilage, tendons, rotator cuff tears, dislocated shoulder, frozen shoulder, shoulder impingement, arthritis, foot and ankle arthritis, wrist pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, ganglion cysts, and wrist arthritis.
