Migraine :
Migraine is a specific, chronic form of headache that is often accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea or sensitivity to light or noise and vision problems. It comes about from changes in brain activity and changes of signals in nerve, blood vessels and chemicals inside the brain. Triggers of migraine are stress, no sleep, hormonal changes, some foods like chocolate or processed meats, strong smells or too much bright lights. Migraine has 3 phases. There can be a phase before the headache starts, when an individual may experience mood alterations and possible food cravings followed by headache that can last for hours to a few days. Often along with these symptoms there are also other associated symptoms such as flares or flashing lights and zigzag shapes known as an aura. Treatment is usually pain medication like paracetamol , ibuprofen or something stronger prescribed for regular use to stop attacks. Lifestyle changes such as having a sound sleep, stress management can also help.
