Bell's palsy :
Bell's palsy is a neurological condition in which the facial nerve gets damaged or inflamed due to a viral infection with Herpes simplex virus. Risk factors that trigger Bell's palsy condition are diabetes, elevated blood pressure, Lyme disease, Sarcoidosis, and other conditions. The patient experiences symptoms of headache, tearing, drooling, loss of taste, hypersensitivity, and sometimes unable to close eyes at the affected area due to drooping of the eye and eyelid. It is diagnosed with potential screenings like MRI, CT, Electromyography, and blood tests, which evaluate and give complete information about the disease. It is treated by a neuro specialist called a neurology doctor and provides effective treatment based on the symptoms and evaluation screenings. This condition progresses if the patient has a weak immune system or autoimmune disease and suffers from sleep deprivation and other illnesses. Therefore, the patient has to focus on early symptoms and must have a consultation with a neurology specialist.
