Herpes :
Herpes is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the herpes simplex virus. The infection can affect the mouth and genitals. It spreads when one comes in contact with the infected skin. Many who get infected by this condition have no symptoms. Some infected individuals have symptoms like pain, discharge or bumps around the mouth, anus or genitals. During the first outbreak of herpes, individuals may also experience fever, eye infection, pain when urinating, body pain and headache. A doctor can diagnose herpes by taking a sample from an active sore and getting it tested. Some doctors order blood tests to detect the infection. Herpes has no cure, but there are medicines that can help the sores heal quickly and lower the risk of another outbreak. Subsequent outbreaks of herpes tend to be less intense when it is treated correctly.
