Head Injury :
A head injury is a condition in which there is damage to the brain, head, or skull. The injury will be seen as a bump, cut, deep cut wound, concussion, or bruise. There are various types of head injuries like concussion, hemorrhage, hematoma, scalp cuts, fracture of skull bones, traumatic brain injuries, and edema. It is classified as open head injuries and closed head injuries. The signs that will be observed with head injuries include bruises, swelling, headaches, dizziness, bleeding from the ears or nose, stiff neck, vision changes, nausea, vomiting, difficulty in concentration, fainting, memory problems, clear fluid leakage through the nose or ears, and seizures. The common head injuries that occur due to falls, road accidents, physical assault, and sports injuries. The diagnosis of head injuries will be based on blood tests, X-ray, CT scan, MRI scan, and EEG. The management advised for head injuries will be based on the severity of the injury, and treatment can be given through medications, and surgery can be done in case of severe injury.
