Allergic rhinitis :
Allergic rhinitis is also called as Hay fever. This is a reaction of the body’s immune system caused by allergens present in the atmosphere. Some common allergens in this regard are dust, pollen from plants, fungal molds found on wet surfaces, and animal hair. This disorder is described as an over reaction of the immune system as the body identifies these agents as harmful substances and triggers an over powering reaction. This ultimately leads to an inflammatory response in the body where the nasal air ways get inflamed and swollen up. Allergic rhinitis often presents itself early in the morning or in the late afternoons. Sneezes are recurrent with high frequency and intensity. The throat, insides of the nasal passages and eyes become itchy. In most cases these symptoms can be managed by an allergy specialist who prescribes anti histamine medications and nasal sprays. A short term corticosteroid medications can also be given.
