Lap Splenectomy :
Lap Splenectomy is a surgical treatment potentially used for patients diagnosed with splenomegaly associated with cancer or infections. The spleen is located on the left side of the stomach and plays a significant role in filtering blood and developing white blood cells to fight infections. Due to certain medical conditions, the spleen gets worse and ruptures therefore, the patient has to undergo lap splenectomy with a qualified doctor, such as a spleen specialist or laparoscopic surgeon. This procedure is followed with anesthesia, and the doctor inserts a laparoscope small tube connected with camera through incision into the stomach which helps to visualize the image on the monitor to see affected spleen to remove. These incisions are closed away after spleen removal. It is a minimally invasive procedure with safe and effective surgical treatment and offers fast recovery with shorter hospital stay.
