Cancer :
Cancer is described as an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that spreads through the blood and lymphatic system to other organs of the body. Cancers are classified into various types such as blood cancers, solid cancers, and mixed types. The significant signs of cancer include fever, usually at night, fatigue, loss of appetite, persistent pain, night sweats, unexplained weight loss, and skin changes, particularly moles that change shape and size or new moles. Factors such as a similar family history, environmental factors, habits of smoking, malnutrition, radiation exposure, and hormone therapy increase the chance of developing the cancer. To confirm the presence of a cancer, investigations such as blood tests, CBC, imaging tests such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, MIBG, PET CT, biopsies and genetic testing for cancer are recommended. Cancer management involves various modalities such as chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, bone marrow transplant and hormone therapy.
