Lap Appendectomy :

Laparoscopic appendectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which the appendix is removed from the abdominal cavity by laparoscopy leaving minimal surgical scars and less bleeding from the surgery. It is performed by a conducted by a general surgeon or surgical gastroenterologist under anesthesia who are trained in laparoscopy procedures, after the necessary investigations were done. Appendectomy is conducted in conditions like acute appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix, sudden severe abdominal pain, nausea and vomitings), reccurent appendicitis (repeated multiple episodes), mass in the appendix, impending sepsis etc.,Laparoscopy helps in faster recovery, less pain, reduced risk of complications , improves visualization of the surrounding tissues and has less scarring.
