Goniotomy :

Goniotomy is a surgery which is performed to reduce the pressure in the eye especially for the patients suffering with glaucoma after giving a trial of eye drops and laser treatment. Goniotomy is done not to cure glaucoma instead it is done to prevent the further damagae of our vision which might occur due to glaucoma.Complications after goniotomy are rare however certain complications like retinal detachment ,cornea scarring eye pain ,eye infection (can be treated with i.v antibiotics during the stay in the hospital ) are prone to occur. Corticosteroids and antibiotics would be prescribed after surgery for few weeks and regular follow up with ophthalmologist is mandatory for few weeks,
