Keratoconus :
Keratoconus can be referred to as a condition that affects the eye, causing the outward bulge of the cornea into a cone shape. As the cornea shape turned into a cone shape, the smooth surface will also change, known as astigmatism, and it can lead to nearsightedness. The possible symptoms that can be observed in keratoconus will be double vision, sensitivity to light, appearance of halos around lights, loss of vision gradually, and distorted vision, making straight lines appear as curvy or bent lines. This keratoconus can be associated with other conditions like allergic rhinitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, osteogenesis imperfecta, and Down syndrome. The diagnostic tests that are performed to diagnose keratoconus will be slit lamp examination, keratometry, visual acuity test, and corneal mapping. The treatment done for keratoconus will depend on the severity of the condition, such as implantable ring segments, eyeglasses, contact lenses, or corneal transplant.
