Contact Lens :
Contact lens are thin, round shaped lenses mainly used to improve vision. Contact lens are placed over the surface of the retina of the eyes. Contact lenses can be used in case of refractive errors such as nearsightedness, astigmatism, farsightedness, age related farsightedness. There are various types of contact lenses, which are divided based on the material of the lens they use, the wearing schedule, the replacement schedule, and special features. Contact lens may not be advisable when there are dry eye disease, working more in dust and fumes, allergies, or recurrent eye infections. Contact lenses should be used with extreme care by following some steps such as washing of hands neatly, taking out the lens and put them on the index finger, then hold the eyelids and place over the surface of the retina. There are complications that can be seen with the contact lenses such as microbial keratitis, contact lens induced acute red eye (CLARE), corneal abrasion, and giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC).
