AIDS :
AIDS can be called the final stage of HIV infection. AIDS full form is acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. AIDS can occur due to a virus called as human immunodeficiency virus. The most significant feature observed in case of AIDS is decreased white blood cell count and decreased immunity. The symptoms that can be experienced in case of AIDS include fever, fatigue, chills, sore throat, night sweats, mouth ulcers, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, and rashes. The diagnosis of HIV/AIDS will be based on the diagnostic tests such as blood tests involving antigen/antibody tests, nucleic acid tests, screening of viral hepatitis, pap smear, chest X-ray, and CD4 count. The treatment that is done for AIDS includes a combination of medications called antiretroviral therapy (ART). The preventive methods of AIDS include not having multiple sexual partners, using condoms during sexual intercourse, and there are certain medications called pre-exposure prophylaxis for preventing the HIV infection.
